30 meters in an hour

Temperatures remain at around – 30C. Perhaps our thermometer is frozen stiff? The morning was cloudy, but later in the day the sun warmed things up.

Another thing that warmed us up was yet more packed ice. Two sheets of mature ice had again crunched together to form an impressive little `mountain range´. First we spread out to scout a route through the icy boulders: slow work at the best of times. Next, it took even more time to get the sledges over the chosen `mountain pass´.

In order to advance the thirty meters, as-the-crow-flies, across the line of pack ice, the Expedition spent just over an hour. Job done. Ski on, brave warriors.

All is well with the Expedition.
